Bill L Klapper
29th District Court Judge, Division 10

Bill L Klapper grew up in Wyandotte County, received his education here, and began his professional career here. He started at a small private law firm before joining the Wyandotte County DA's office as an assistant district attorney under DA Nick Tomasic, where he handled criminal cases of all types. He later served as an assistant city attorney during Hal Walker's tenure, handling municipal court, litigation, and labor negotiations.

Klapper returned to private practice with a mid-size firm, doing plaintiff's trial work, representing local businesses, and handling contract work for our local government. He then opened his own practice, representing the citizens and businesses of Wyandotte County.

Klapper was appointed District Court Judge in 2013 and has been re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022. Since taking the bench he has served in the district's juvenile and criminal courts and currently presides in civil court. He also helped develop and implement the first specialty court in Wyandotte County, the Juvenile Drug Court.
